As you can see from the mess in my apartment, I was making a new video a couple of weekends ago.
The Homeskool’s PR firm asked us a few days after the release if we had a new video and I just kind of grimaced and said, “yeah….suuuure… working on one right now in fact.” In reality, I had nothing and so (with nothing but Dinosaur Jr.’s video for “Just like Heaven” as vague inspiration) I ran to Michael’s and Ross with $40 in hand, bought some supplies, and spent the rest of the afternoon gluing characters as well as a lot of testing to see how to make it work. Thankfully, Clinton came over on Sunday morning with a treasure trove of props and costumes that really gave the characters some life. He also tossed in a bad Hendrix joke that worked out pretty well in the final edit. After he left, I then spent the rest of the day shooting followed by three days of adding cheesy effects and editing it down so as to have it ready by Thursday morning for the Label’s PR folks. So a few sleepless nights later it was done and the PR folks gave it a “go” telling us they’d be setting up a premiere soon. So I guess stay on the lookout for the new one soon.
